Phone buttons don't connect or stick

When I'm trying to enter numbers on my phone sometimes I'll just hear clicks while at other times buttons will stick and I'll keep on hearing the tone even after moving my finger away from that number. This happened occasionally with my previous iPhone, but seems to be more problematic with my new one. When I'm in a menu that wants certain info inputted through my phone it sometimes goes crazy like that. Anyone have an idea of what's going on or how I could fix this? Thanks for reading.

The weird thing is that I can use the keypad in the keypad tab just fine, but if I call somewhere that wants me to enter info with my keypad it's very, very hard to do.

It is possible your device is defective. I'd take it in and have it checked by Apple.
You can also use the disability service to learn if it is indeed an issue software related.

On second thought, I don’t know about exactly what you’re experiencing, but I find it just easier when I need to enter several numbers to use a headset.
I’ve found with my new phone, I can do a couple, like when opening a door, or if I’m on a call and need to press 0 or something as a response, that is easy.
It seems soon as I move the phone from my ear, or move it to press a number if it is on a speaker, it will get lost.
With a headset for whatever reason, I never have a problem even if I move the phone around.
If I have to type things, like passwords or whatever, I have just gotten use to using a headset.
